Simplicity from beginning to end

Creating a seamless ordering experience

Easy online ordering

Place your order online for more efficient processing, faster report delivery, and access to additional online features. Setting up an account only takes a few minutes, and you can also browse and order directly from our online test catalog.

An Invitae online account enables you to:

  • Design and save custom orders for easy re-ordering
  • Securely share test results with patients and colleagues
  • Order on behalf of clinicians in your organization
  • Track order status in real time and keep a record of previous orders
  • Securely message Invitae staff and upload documents
  • View and download your test reports

If you prefer to place a paper-based order for panel testing, you can also download our paper test requisition from our Forms page. Please note that there is no paper requisition for the Invitae Boosted Exome, which can only be ordered online.

  3. When entering the reason for testing, select Panel/Gene Test, Exome, Family Variant Test/VUS Resolution, or Collaboration/Research Study.
  4. For panel tests, browse the test catalog to select a pre-curated panel or create a custom order.
  5. For exome, follow the detailed instructions to select a test option and provide a list of phenotypic features and symptoms present in the proband.
  6. Enter billing information and indicate if you would like Invitae to arrange a blood draw at your office or your patient's home at no additional charge (in the US and Canada only) or if you would like Invitae to send you specimen collection kits.
  7. Submit your order.

For the most efficient order processing, faster report delivery, and access to additional online features, we recommend that healthcare providers place their orders online. Send in sample

  1. Use our online request form to request a free Invitae blood, saliva, or assisted saliva collection kit, which you will need for collecting and returning your specimen.
  2. Label the sample tube with the patient’s full name, date of birth, and sample collection date. For full details about our sample requirements, visit our Sample Requirements page.
  3. Within the US and Canada, Invitae can arrange a blood draw at your office or your patient’s home at no additional charge. If you require this service but did not indicate it during the online ordering process, please contact Client Services to schedule the appointment. Appointments must be scheduled at least three days in advance.
  4. Print the requisition form that was created during the online ordering process. Invitae’s requisition forms (for panel testing) are also available on our Forms page. (Exome testing can only be ordered online.)
  5. Package the requisition form with your patient’s sample in the provided collection box.
  6. You’re now ready to call your shipping carrier to schedule a pick-up. Within the US, return shipping is offered at no additional charge and a label is included in the collection kit. We recommend shipping the sample overnight, on the same day the sample is collected. We also recommend shipping at the beginning of the week to avoid any transport delays over a weekend.
