This test analyzes the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes, which are assoicated with hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome (HBOC). Accelerated turnaround time may be necessary because physicians and patients often want to make surgical and management decisions as quickly as possible.
The Invitae Common Hereditary Cancers Panel analyzes 47 genes associated with cancers of the breast, ovary, uterus, prostate and gastrointestinal system, which includes the stomach, colon, rectum, small bowel, and pancreas.
The Invitae Multi-Cancer Panel is a comprehensive cancer panel that tests genes associated with hereditary cancer syndromes, including known pancreatic cancer genes.
*The Invitae BRCA1 and BRCA2 STAT Panel is optional. If selected, clinicians must also select either the Invitae Multi-Cancer Panel or the Invitae Common Hereditary Cancers Panel. If no additional panel is selected, Invitae will process the Invitae Multi-Cancer Panel by default. Results will be delivered separately in two different reports: the Invitae BRCA1 and BRCA 2 STAT Panel results will be reported within 5-12 days from sample accessioning. Results of the Invitae Multi-Cancer Panel or the Invitae Common Hereditary Cancers Panel will be reported separately within 21 days of delivery of the first report. If the Invitae BRCA1 and BRCA2 STAT Panel is not selected, results will be delivered within normal turnaround times.
If the Invitae BRCA1 and BRCA2 STAT Panel was ordered, clinicians will have selected either the Invitae Multi-Cancer Panel or the Invitae Common Hereditary Cancers Panel as a follow-up test for their patient. If no additional panel was selected, Invitae will process the Invitae Multi-Cancer Panel by default. Results of the follow-up testing will be reported separately within 21 days of delivery of the first report.

If the Invitae Multi-Cancer Panel or the Invitae Common Hereditary Cancers Panel was ordered, Detect Hereditary Pancreatic Cancer includes one re-requisition within 90 days to another panel in the original clinical area.
