The 2017 Code Talker Award

The Code Talker Award is an essay contest for patients, peers and caregivers to pay tribute to a genetic counselor who has made a lasting impact. Genetic counselors are at the frontline of precision medicine, serving as educators to patients and physician alike as they translate the complexities of inherited diesase into meaningful guidance.

After culling through hundreds of essay submissions, Genome's editorial team chose three finalists, and the winner was announced at the National Society of Genetic Counselors Annual Education Conference.
