Patients being tested for diagnostic cancer and cardiology, proactive health screens, and reproductive health testing also have the option to schedule a more comprehensive post-test genetic counseling session specific to their own medical and family histories, if desired.* There is no additional charge for patients to access Invitae’s services.

*Genetic counseling services are offered in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico only. In other countries, clinicians are encouraged to consult with an Invitae genetic counselor to obtain additional information about a patient's test result. Invitae also offers genetic counseling for ophthalmology patients tested through the ID YOUR IRD program.
Invitae believes that genetic counseling is important for patients considering genetic testing. For healthcare professionals who would like to refer a patient for genetics services, Invitae offers the Genetics Provider Network (GPN).
The GPN is a network of genetics professionals, including genetic counselors, geneticists, and genetic nurses, in the US and Canada. Genetics providers included in the GPN cover a broad range of genetics specialties and offer both face-to-face and remote consultations.
