Clinical Director, Oncology

Description

Invitae is inviting applications for the position of Clinical Director for Cancer Genetics.

Responsibilities

  • Working with an exceptional team of scientists, genetic counselors, clinical laboratory directors and bioinformaticians to analyze and report on clinical molecular data across our comprehensive cancer genetics offering
  • Reviewing and signing out clinical cases
  • Providing consultations on results for referring physicians and genetic counselors
  • Researching and documenting detailed molecular and clinical aspects of cancer genetics
  • Leading efforts on publications and conference presentations to contribute meaningfully to the field of cancer genetics
  • Providing support to the medical affairs team with client on-site visits, R&D projects, and Invitaeā€™s Genome Network

Requirements

  • Certification in molecular genetics and required licensure to sign cases in California:PhD, ABMGG (molecular genetics) and California LDS, CLS or CGMBS licensure OR MD (California license) Pathology and MGP certification
  • 3-5 years of experience in a CLIA laboratory
  • 3-5 years experience in germline cancer genetics
  • Experience with bioinformatics (specifically in sequence and copy number variant interpretation), next-generation sequencing, and exome or whole genome sequence analysis
  • A strong collaborative spirit and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills.
