Genetic testing, with CancerCHECK

A step-by-step guide to genetic testing

Invitae’s CancerCHECK toolkit is designed to guide clinicians through the entire screening process for patients at risk of hereditary cancers. CancerCHECK helps:

  • identify appropriate candidates for genetic testing
  • choose the most appropriate guidelines-based genetic test for those patients
  • identify medical management guidelines based on test results indicating risk for hereditary breast, ovarian and colorectal cancers.

Board-certified, experienced genetic counselors are available to help you order the right test for your patient and guide you through results interpretation and management at no additional charge.

What’s included in CancerCHECK?

  • A checklist to help identify appropriate candidates for genetic testing
  • Guidelines-based genetic testing panels to consider
  • Management guidelines for the genes within each panel
  • Additional resources for your practice and patients

This toolkit is designed for hereditary breast, gynecologic, and colorectal cancer only. Other cancer types are not included in assessment with this toolkit. If you have questions, please contact your local genetic counselor or, if you don’t have one nearby, contact Invitae’s Clinical Consult Service. Current genetic testing doesn’t explain all family history of breast, gynecologic, or colorectal cancer. In the event of an inconclusive result, patients and families' medical management should be based on the cancer types in their family.
